One of the things that made me very confused (spoilers ahead): If supposedly the rumor about the village women mating with dogs, was made up by the energy company as a way of making that village even more hated and marginalized then how do we explain the dog people in the end? Makes you think that was no rumor at all, doesn't it?

And it’s based on Taiwan’s famous parliament brawls history. It’s definitely targeting the young hipsters in Taiwan, who are into quirky stuff like 500 days with Summer, the perks of being a wallflower, or very independent music or bands. Taiwanese youngsters are nerdy introverted yet wild. Been oppressed by tiger parents and society. Oppressed by China -Taiwan cross strait tension. Taiwan has a very unique quirkiness when it comes to “ show your feelings” Can you imagine growing up next to a world mega power each year threat you with missile and starts a war ? Taiwan has a special tastes in anything “ independent “ Independent films and music Because it’s a “ place “been doubtful of its sovereignty for decades. So it’s absolutely understandable why many reviewers from West doesn’t get the mad vibes. Google Taiwan, politics , relationships with China , parliament brawls. It’s the type of film Taiwanese people love , laugh but with tears. (Sweet but with bitterness) , a comedy yet tragedy So urgent to be free to be blossom to be seen as a sovereign however so unlikely. Satire in real life pretty much everyday This is actually my favorite Taiwanese movie, it representative Taiwan well, a real live comedy -tragedy ongoing . Our “unsolved forever sovereignty”problem and many people suffering “ identity crisis “ That’s so called “art of absurdity” We have a saying our situation is always like “the frog inside boiling water of a rice cooker “ Imagine the imaginary of that damn flowing frogy, would you call that imagery “ absurdity “ Yes and that’s Taiwan A place without sovereignty for so long …. So understand this film u need to love absurdity in daily life, because that’s Taiwanese people’s life. (Hong Kong nowadays like wise) It’s like the female cynical public servant , if you only have one day left to live u might as long as live it the best. Viva Taiwan absurdity🎉

The first one was okay, the second one was awful. I''m going to watch this one, but not looking forward to it. The characters in many of these Taiwanese horror movies are so irritating and not funny.

Oh, I mixed this up with that other series with 3 movies so far. Can't remember the name. Yes i do, The Rope Curse! But I hated the first Bridge Curse.😁

This could have gone horribly wrong. My reflex action would be to rummage for some poo in the toilet bowl and throw it at whatever entity that tries to scare me. Failing that the cistern lid would be my next option.

LSF still BANNED this movie, I dunno, hopefully someday SimeArt will sell it in bluray or original dvd limited. just hearing they gonna make another movie again in the future btw, the idea from POCONG was used in POCONG ORIGINS Surya Saputra POCONG 2 also good, the twist WTF. Dwi Sasono and Teuku Rifnu now were big star (and Teuku just premiere his movie last week in Jakarta) btw, in last year, just got some pictures that some scenes in POCONG were released to the public (I dunno gonna get restoration or somethin') sorry if my English terribly bad. helloww from Bogor, Indonesia

why is there a chinese remake of a roger corman produced syfy movie and why does it looks awesome

Good movie with great characters.

I'm assuming this was made after China banned supernatural stuff in their horror movies, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they explain all of the supernatural stuff in the big Scooby-Doo moment.

The question is, if they make a sequel, will it be call Sharktopus 2 or will we be doing the Sharktopus vs (insert hybrid) like with the original. We’re definitely going to have more monsters show up in the sequels though. That’s kind of a thing with China and their monster movies.

Okay, so they make a movie called Horror Shark, but the best they could come up with was that it was red? tsk tsk I mean, even Sci-fi channel, which I’m pretty sure is the main source of inspiration with many of these Chinese movies, came up with more creative shark designs at times.
